What is the Annual Fund?

The Annual Fund directly supports teaching, learning and discovery at Ohio Wesleyan. Your Annual Fund gift goes where the need is greatest. That means your gift can:

  • help a qualified student attend OWU through financial aid,
  • support a biology lab,
  • provide field trip transportation for students,
  • or buy books and resources for the library.

When you give to the Annual Fund, you not only state that you believe in the goals of the University and the value of your education, but you also invest in the current and future students of Ohio Wesleyan.

Why should I give to Annual Fund?

Tuition comprises only 60 percent of the cost of an OWU education. The remaining 40 percent comes from endowment income and gifts - including gifts from you. All students, whether or not they receive financial aid, benefit from the investment provided to the Ohio Wesleyan Annual Fund.

Since Herman "Rusty" Shipps '13 started the OWU Annual Fund in 1927, the Annual Fund has supported the mission of the college by introducing alumni, parents, friends, faculty and staff to the importance of giving annually to enhance programs and assist in the daily operation of the college.
